OBJECTIVE 2 - HELPING PRIORITY ENTRANTS ACCESS WORK THROUGH
HANDS-ON CRAFT, TECHNICAL AND PRODUCTION TRAINING
Connected Plus ofers a direct-to-placement route for participants, and is
often best suited to those with a degree or an FE qualiocation, or for those
who have participated in a related initiative, such as BFI Academy Plus.

This programme not only provides a pathway for diverse entrants into
the industry but also helps reduce the onancial barriers to enter into the
industry by providing paid placements within their home region as well as
onancial support for those who need to travel either within the region or
beyond in order to take up their placement opportunity.
Participants in the Connected Plus programme identioed cost as one of
the main barriers to entry in the screen industry.
HIGHLIGHTS

our objectives. Here are some of the
highlights of the orst year:
Diverse entrants placed on productions
across the north of England. Screen
Manchester placed trainees on
Waterloo Road, Alma9s Not Normal,
Boiling Point, Fool Me Once and began
coordinating new placements for
trainees on Picture Shop.
